Refinished Furniture .............Does anyone like color anymore??.....

I've been having a hard time lately with being asked if we could create another neutral piece!!

I understand it. People want their things to match and neutral colors allow you to add your own pop of color when you want it. I get it! It makes sense for most people. But for me? Well... I find it boring. If you watch HGTV and see the new houses and everything is cookie cutter, matchy matchy, it just all looks the same! What happened to the color? It seems we have all become uniformed. We all have the same things from the same big box stores.

I guess what I am struggling with is not being able to create. The whole idea of what Ashli and I are trying to do with this business is not only to save unwanted, outdated furniture from the giant garbage pile this city already has but it was to create unique pieces that they don't sell in the big box stores. We want to create something that will stand out from the rest and show that old things can be new again. We can still do that with neutral colors but the thrill we get from creating something so out there and so unique seems to fizz away for each neutral piece we do.

For anyone that knows me, you know that when you walk into my living room you can see that its my personality reflected in color. I wanted to have a home that when I walk in every single piece was either a conversation piece or something that has a story or a memory behind it. To me its more about your home reflecting who you are rather than looking like everyone else's.

I guess this is just a rant. I know I sound silly but color just brings so much joy and I feel lately like there's no joy around. So maybe more color is what we need!

What's your take on color? Do you love it or hate it? Would you have your furniture refinished with color?

This is a great example of living your authentic life with color! Color brings JOY!!
A living room full of color!!
